Jiří Papoušek , our Steve Newall Memorial Speaker for 2024, is from the Czech Republic. Jiří has 35 years of experience of growing and exhibiting alpines at Prague rock gardens shows and is a member of the Prague Rock Garden Club and Scottish Rock Garden Club.
He is an expert in rock, crevice and tufa gardening and in the cultivation of alpines, cushion plants, dionysias, small daphnes and dwarf conifers. His passion for plants is evident in his garden which is situated at 200m elevation, 10 km from Prague, Cech Republic where he has expertly created habitats for the plants that he loves in crevice gardens, troughs, a tufa tunnel with tufa wall, and on peat blocks.
